Weird Cat Face by: Anonymous My cat has never (as far as I know) had this problem. Ignore him while he is in this mood I figure it would e like a child. If you give him attention while he has his poopy face on, it will continue to exhibit this action, as it gets him attention, think about what you do to try to make hime happy again, you are all over him, and no attention is being given to the sister cat. I hope this helps, as this is how I treat my youngest child when she get pouty.

Weird Cat Face by: Anonymous Your cat is feeling rejected. Perhaps you are allowing his playmate to humiliate him, or you are SEEMING to give his playmate preferential treatment over him. Cats are very jealous if they feel they are unappreciated. Don’t scold him, just give him lots of attention. If this doesn’t work, ignore his sulks. He may be just used to having his own way all the time.

Cold Shoulder Kittie by: Mario A friend of mine had an orange cat named Ginger. She was not the only one, but she excelled in giving you the cold shoulder so to speak. Any time he did anything that upset he beads she would stomp off a few paces away and turn her back to him and sit there like that until she got over it. Sort of her way fo saying, Ã’ll show you, for treating me that way, will you? I have often said that the only things cats don’t do is talk. But from my own personal experience they are masters of expressions. Full range A-Z. Anything they feel they can let you know in a hurry. They are very loveable, complex critters that are never, never boring as companions.

Not the same by: Emily I just posted a suggestion about the weird cat face and then noticed that there was an Emily from Youngstown, Ohio who posted cat stories following yours. Just to avoid confusion, I am not the same Emily. I am in Fairmont, North Carolina.

Timing by: Emily You didn’t say WHEN you tried to change his mood, if it was right away or after he had his face on for a while, but I would suggest that you try immediately after whatever incident brought on “the face. ” For instance, just after missing a jump you might pet him and say something in a soothing, comforting voice like “That was a really good try. Are you ok? Keep trying, you’ll get it,” but don’t try to coax him into doing it again, just try to be as encouraging as possible. Or if his sister gets overly excited when playing, separate them and tell him gently that was uncalled for and that he didn’t deserve that. He may not understand the words but he will understand soothing and reassuring your mood when you talk to him. He may just need reassurance that he’s loved despite his embarrassing incident.
