Fearful Cat
My cat is fearful of everyone and sometimes even me! I had found my cat Baby when she was maybe 6-8 weeks old on a stoop on a very very cold December day, I picked her up and took her home. At first she was fine, then started to have a fear of other people, except me. Lately, she will even be a little afraid of me,and will come up to me without me looking at her. I want her to be a little more people friendly, but I do not know how. Any suggestions?

My cat the spirit hunter

Scared cat behavior image
My 11 yr old, 15 lb, neutered cat Snuzzle, has spent the night sniffing and prowling throughout my house. He usually goes to bed at night and sleeps all night curled up next to me. Last night however he acted quite strange. He started around midnight sniffing every room and every nook and cranny. He searched the fireplace, tried to climb into the chimney and sniffed everything he could reach – repeatedly. He then went into my bedroom and proceeded to sniff everything there. He got on the dresser, rocking chair, bedside table and DVD racks. He sniffed everywhere, under the bed behind and under all the furniture, then got on the bed and sniffed the perimeter of my bed and made 46 trips around it. He then started his sniffing search all over again. This went on for 5 hours without any break in this pattern. Once he jumped on top of my dresser, jumped off quickly, hissed and ran from the room. I had to coax him back and he once again resumed sniffing everything. He did not want me to touch him and would suddenly sit in the center of the room and look around him like he was following something with his eyes. This went on till it became daylight where he suddenly stopped searching and sniffing and laid on the bed like he usually does. He was awake for hours after the incident which is also unusual as he really likes to sleep any time any where. He is such a laid back, lovey that for him to be so active and not want to be loved its almost unheard of. This happened once before in April and it was the same as last night. Has anyone else had their cat behave like this? I also checked the house for bugs, rodents (which we have never had before) and for snakes. I searched again this morning and didn’t find anything either.

My cat sighs
by Tina k. (Pontiac)
My cat also has a stuffed whale that I found and he carries it around often. Sometimes he seems to consider the stuffed animal as his mate. On top of this he has some other weird habits that I will list for you below. a:He climbs around my neck and lay across my shoulders but it always the same way he faces to the right. b: He lets me know when he wants to get under the cover to sleep. he paws at me if I’m sleeping to let him in.c: He will even cuddles with me in a ball in my arms or even lay along side me with his head laying on my arm.But here’s something weird, when he gets really comfortable he’ll let out a little sigh. I never know an animal to do that before. plus he even makes a noise when he wants his whale and has a fit if you go near him with it. Plus he follows me about everywhere i go in the house. He is definitely the oddest cat i ever had.

Buddy the Cat Nipper
cosmic catnip
Buddy and the cat nip. My cat is so funny and so cute! One time he found a bag of cat nip in my room and, before I could stop him, he put his whole head in the bag. After a few seconds, he went bonkers! After an hour of him being crazy, Buddy crashed in the middle of the living room floor.
My cat Louis

cat claping
My cat Louis is seven month old tomorrow. He is a very loving, active kitty. Lately he has developed a new behavior which is cute but strange. When he is contemplating jumping up on a ledge or the counter he will sit back on his haunches and start what looks like a clapping motion with his two front paws. Its hilarious but definitely very weird. It is almost a dog like behavior like when you train them to beg. Has anyone seen this behavior in a cat before. I’m going to try to get it on video because you have to see it to appreciate it.
