Fur-ball the Choclate Point Siamese

Fur-ball the Choclate Point Siamese

My female cat has the habit of meowing to the walls. She faces one of the walls, looks up and meows with such sentiment. As if she wanted to make love to it. Sometimes she even tries to climb the wall. This is really weird, at least to me. She is neutered, so I can not understand this strange behavior. There are no bugs to explain the attention she gives to the wall. Oh well what do you think.Heidi’s thoughts about cats and the walls they love.I think my cats lost his mind. My cat is a 2 yr old neutered long hair chocolate point Siamese. His name is Fur-ball and he is strange. He has this habit of going up to the wall and climbing into a standing position where he leans against the wall and rotates his head around and meows. It freaks me out, he has several favorite wall spots that he does this at. I think the cats lost his mind. He also gets psycho often. This is where he runs around jumping and landing hard on objects. He loves to make a mess of anything he can. He delights in rumpling floor rugs and knocking over laundry baskets. He will launch from furniture to his cat tree with such force that it rocks violently back and forth. Normally he’s quiet and a total lover boy although he ignores everyone, but me. He loves his food to the point that anytime I walk near his bowl he races me and he loves drinking from the tub and sink too. I was wondering if anyone else has a cat with the creepy rotating head syndrome.

Cat meowing at wall by: Vicki My cat keeps meowing at the wall and scratching at it. Every 10 minutes or so she does it. My cat is a ginger tabby and 11 months old. She’s neutered, but she seems to be attached to the wall in some way. Can someone give me some advice?

Photo cries by: Chesters Mom I have two cats one is 6 the other is 1 they are both black and very loving I noticed my older cat would sit on his cat tree and stare at the picture of my son and my self that is on the wall directly behind the cat tree. At first it was kind of like a trance. He would have his ears back but would be purring. My boy friend moved in and then we got Chester. Unfortunately, he doesn’t just stare at the wall, he paws at it in one spot on my sons shoulder and meows sometimes a painful cry. I don’t know what he sees, but a bit of background info. My son was a twin his twin died I often wonder if my cat sees the spirit of my other son in the photo of me and him.

This is very common by: LadyMadonna I’ve read that many, many cats do this, especially at night. They stare at a wall as if they were watching a bug crawl, only there’s nothing there. Many cats really howl during these bewitching hours. After staring at a wall, the cats may also race around the house at top speed, and bounce off pieces of furniture, like they’ve gone insane. However, if the skin on their back starts twitching like crazy, or if the cat starts licking furiously at their fur (on their back near the tail, especially), it could be Rippling Skin Disorder. Yes, it’s a real feline disorder, and when cats have it, they are not happy campers. Just do a search with the name of the disorder, and you’ll pull up a lot of information on it. I believe extra Vitamin E can help.Good luck,LadyMadonna

weird behaviour cats by: claire my cat Izzy is only one year old and a bit. She does the same thing running up door frames making funny noises at walls. She also goes running around like mad as if she is chasing something that we cant see. She has done it ever since we got her from her mother, she goes outside as well but doesn’t do it out there.

My cat does the same thing and it drives me nuts sometimes! by: Anonymous My 6 year old male Tom cat has done this several times but not frequent. He did this at my old apartment and now at my house. He cries and howls at the walls, then jumps across the back of the couch repeatedly, like he is freaked out! I swear he sees ghosts or something. He’s actually doing it right now and seems terrified and calm at the same time…..strange!! We have a large mirror on the wall too which he stares at and keeps crying, but whips his tail like he is content. I pet him and try to snap him out of it but it just goes away when he wants it to I guess. I don’t get it and would love to know more about this behavior in cats!Good luck!HollyTampa, FL

Sixth Sense by: Cheryl Did you know that in some cultures, it is believed that cats have a sixth sense? So perhaps your cat is indeed interacting with “something” or “someone”…

Meowing at Walls by: Janie YES!! Jaxson does this too! I used to live in an older apartment complex, so I thought the same thing – something was in the walls. But now I live in a brand new complex and there are definitely no rodents. He will meow at the wall and of course I meow back at him and he looks at me as if to say “Well don’t you see it?!” Of course – there’s nothing there! This seems to be particularly prevalent in the kitchen, in the corner, where no shadows are cast.

cat in love with the wall! by: Anonymous Maybe your cat hears thing (real or otherwise) behind the walls. It could be hearing the water running through the pipes and does not have any idea what it is.

Reason Cat in love with wall ; ) by: Margo Found your story interesting. Our male cat meows and jumps at walls also! We have watched Alien as he walks along the wall and jumps and meows at it. Are there any shadows on your wall? Movement in form of shadows seems to be the answer for us. It makes him crazy because he can never ‘catch’ them!

Cat meows at walls by: Sherri My cat meows at walls also. My cat is a female tabby cat about 6 years old. Vegas is a very shy little cat and for the most part is very calm and well behaved. About twice a month it seems she has to let off some pent up energy and she explodes in some strange very active behavior. Her routine always starts with the meowing at the walls bit. This then escalates into vertical jumps along the wall reaching as high as 6 feet. These out bursts last for about 15 minutes and then all returns to normal. It was nice to hear your story so now I know its not as abnormal as it seems.
