Cat Books
On this cat books page We will only recommend cat health and cat behavior books that we own.
Note: Hardcopy books are available on the next page. Also an update about the new amazon kindle reader that is changing how we read is at the bottom of this page!
But first, I will talk about publications available for instant download in PDF format.
Favorite cat books
My top pick in both paper and electronic format happens to be the first cat e-book that I purchased. This book is from problem cat behaviors.com and is written by Dr. Chris DVM (Dr. of Veterinary Medicine).
This also is the only electronic book that I found, that was written by a veterinarian. This seems to be important because many of the facts and information that is provided is from veterinary journals that only a professional DVM would have access to.
My favorite section was related to the cats personality, and how this can be changed. My cat Thomas is a testament that a felines general personality can be altered.
When we first got him, he had an ear mite problem, and we had to treat him with eardrops twice a day. Our relationship started off with a rocky road and made Thomas withdraw from our contact.
We were able to turn this behavior around in about a six-month period. Now Thomas is truly a mama's boy, as shown by this picture.
I will give credit to Dr. Chris for providing the information and also providing e-mail support that comes with the Package.

Recommended cat books
This next recommendation comes from my pure enjoyment of the book rather than the author Liz Barton being a certified veterinarian, which she is not. Liz is the Texas cat Wrangler.
She is a cat lover and has rescued many cats. I'll have to be honest that my purchase was mainly in support of her program of being kind to wayward cats.
But to my surprise, this was a very enjoyable read, and she does have a different take on solving cat Behavior problems. Her general program is to support your cats natural instincts instead of suppressing them.
I really wasn't expecting to learn much from this E-book, but I actually did. The premise is based on providing a comfortable environment for your cat, reducing stress, and therefore opening your cats mind to behavioral changes.
I made some adjustments in our cats environment and found this to be very useful in even further improving our cats behavior.
So to sum it up I thought I was helping a good cause, and I was. I also learned something and enjoyed reading it. Take a look at Liz Barton's Texas cat Wrangler website.
Update: We have recieved more positive feedback from our site visitors on this cat book then on any other product available on this website!
Cat Books By Liz Barton
If there is any doubt in your mind that you can read a book about cats and take action with the things you learned, please look at my wife and my son Thomas. This happy picture would not be possible without the books listed on this page.

This book from Cassandra Mandello was a close third and my wife wanted to make sure it was posted. Very well writen and helpful material about cat psychology, bonding and understanding your cat before you begin training.
