A Very Close Call by: Anonymous I also once bought a catnip toy mouse for my cat, Minnie, for Christmas. Later that day, on Christmas Day, I had only just come into the house, when I heard a wheezing sound coming from my bedroom. I went in there, only to find Minnie on my bed wheezing, with the end of the mouse tail poking out of her mouth, so I picked her up, tilted her head back & successfully managed to pull the mouse out. She had actually swallowed the mouse body whole, but the tail was still poking out. Minnie had no other complications since then. Lucky I was there when I was, because it could have been so much worse. Since then, I have never let my cats play with catnip mouse toys unsupervised. They should come with a warning on the label.
