Sock Stealing Weirdo Cat

by Vanessa

Cat uses computer

Cat uses computer

First of all, I should mention that the majority of the time, my cat is mute. As in, when she meows, you hear it like she's whispering or something. No meowing at the door at 3 am like some people's cats do.

If we do hear her meow, she probably has a sock in her mouth. If the sock drawer is open even the slightest bit, she'll get in there and take your socks. Then she delivers them to the living room, meowing for us to come see what a great sock-catcher she is. Some days when we get home, there's 3 or 4 pairs of socks out there.

The cat also "plucks" books. It looks like she's trying to sharpen her claws or something, but since she has no claws all she's really doing is making noise by plucking the book's cover with her toes.

Finally, she thinks my laptop is a good place to sleep. I know it's warm, but does she have to step all over the keyboard, doing her little kneading in a circle thing to get comfy? So far she's only managed to send nonsense instant messages to my friends (I left the AIM window up) and turn off my computer by stepping on the power button.

Wow - some people
by: Brenda

I felt the need to comment to F. Jones comment. How DARE you be judgmental to someone you don't even know? For all you know this cat may have already been declawed when she was adopted. You have no idea what the situation was and you shouldn't be commenting in such a threatening tone to people.

Cat with no claws.
by: f. jones

I notice you said your cat had no claws;I wondered how this could be until I remembered that in the USA there is such a thing as [declawing] I think it is called. I am writing to say I think this is against nature and cruel. How dare you.

What a lovely baby
by: dixie doodle

Your cat looks so much like the cat my brother used to have - his name was Buddy and we all miss him and his fun personality. Your baby seems like a lot of fun - thank you so much for sharing the story and may you have many, many happy and healthy years with her!
