Pregnant Cat Strange Behavior

Strange pregnant cat behavior. I have a 3 year old cat who is pregnant and a 2 year old cat who recently had 2 kittens. The two cats are related Mother and daughter. Since the younger cat had kittens the older cat who is pregnant has also started to nurse the kittens.
So they are being nursed by their mother and grandmother. The strangest thing is that the younger cat doesn't seem to mind that her mother is also feeding her kittens. Another strange thing is that the pregnant cat keeps grabbing the kittens by their neck and taking them behind the sofa.
Also when the kittens are being fed by their mother their grandmother often snuggles up with them sometimes laying on top of them while they are feeding. I have been told that Lionesses do this and often share feeding of their young in a pride.
I find this behavior in a domestic cat quite strange. I am hoping that once the older cat has her own litter that she will concentrate more on them and stop taking over. I wonder if she will let her daughter feed her kittens when they arrive though I doubt that as she seems to be very possessive.
