Peering back from the wall
by Kate
I've had Mojo about 6 weeks now and he does something I've never seen another cat do. He walks up to a wall or occasionally a piece of furniture. Facing the wall directly, he stands up tall on his hind legs with his front legs braced on the wall.
Then he bends his head back, all the way over, so that he's looking directly away from the wall with his head upside down and his neck pointing at the ceiling. He often makes a soft little mew when he does this, but not always. After a few seconds, he twists his head to one side or the other and his body follows, so that he's just standing near the wall.
He does this more often in the evening than any other time of day. But I've seen him do it every day, at least a few times per day, since we've had him. I have no idea what he's up to with this behavior, but at least it's harmless. Still, I find it very odd, and I've had cats all my life.
