Cats kneading and licking.

The kneading and licking or sucking on various fabrics is a comfort response for kittens that were never completely weaned. It can last for their entire lifetime if they are neutered.

Cat chews off play mouse tails

Yes, two of my cats chew off their play mouse tails the minute they get them. They hold the mouse by the tail and chomp until it breaks off, eat the tail and then pick up the mouse and shake it before playing with it.
