Yes, my first guess would be a urinary tract infection. I've had a female do that a couple of times. However, I've not seen a male do it, so I can't say for sure that you're dealing with an infection.
I would definitely keep a close eye on him. When my female was going through it, she ended up leaving behind bloody urine. The vet was able to fix her up, but I'm glad we took her on to see him when we saw what was going on. Good luck, & I hope your little one feels better soon.
