Cosmic Catnip Effect

The catnip effect. My cat Boogie is 16 years old. When he was a kitten, and a young cat, we gave him catnip which he found to be much to his liking. He went through a period when he didn't seem able to hit the kitty litter while taking a dump. He'd stand IN the cat box, and hang his butt over the edge, leaving presents right beside his cat box! As time went on, his intake of catnip diminished to none at all.

I didn't think much about it until lately when his desire for catnip has once again returned to him. Over the past month or so we've allowed him to partake a time or ten. I've also noticed over the last week that he's once again lost his ability to hit the cat box with his poop. Thinking back, I can't recall the last time he had this problem, other then while a young feline enjoying catnip the natural plants he so loved.
