Cat hair stylist

MY adult male cat -Punkin- does the strangest thing at night. When I am lying on my pillow, he will curl up around my head and start "kneading".

After a few minutes of this he will reach out with his claws and grab segments of my hair and comb through them with his claws *Cat hair styling tip for those ladies whose hair lacks volume- this works great- if you can get kitty to oblige.

If I pull my hair away from him, he simply reaches out and takes it back. Does anyone know what this peculiar Cat hair stylist behavior means?
