Cat Who Loves to Bite

Bitey On her chair
I have a lovely ginger stripped cat tabby I believe. We all affectionately known her as Gingy. She is one year old and very frisky but she has a very bad habit. She sometimes attacks me (out of the blue). We can be lying on the bed enjoying each-others company and she just decides to bite me and then run away. The bites are very hard and most times draws blood.
This really troubles me because I just do not see any warning signs of the impending attack. She is a house cat but I do give her time to roam about the yard when I come home from work. The yard has an 8 foot wall so she gets to go outside without being at risk of getting out of the yard.
We provide love and understanding as well as plenty of
cat toys and activities. She doesn't seem nervous or have any other behavioral issue other then the surprise biting attacks. My son describes her bite as like a snake or viper as they are so fast like a snake striking? Can anyone shed some light on this behavior for me. Thanks Danna
