cat wakes me up pulling my hair

I have a cat buddy. He is a gray tiger. He has LOTS of strange little habits, but as of a week ago, he developed a new one. He will wake me up at 3am by pulling my hair!

He will pat me on the head a couple times, then he will use his claws to actually pull. Does anyone else cat do this?

The weird part is he purrs while doing it! He comes back sometimes every hour and does this. I have even fed him before to get him to stop, but he just comes right back and does it.

Anyone have any idea why?

My cat does this but its like at 6 am or just as the alarm clock goes off. I would love to find a way of stopping it but i just get up then he leaves me alone but generally because I give him food.

Well you should have ignored it was probably just some random thing your cat was just playing. But know since you feed him that acted as positive reinforcement to your kitty its like "if i bother him in the middle of the night i get food".

If he is doing this every night just try to ignore him for one night then maybe the next night if he still does it, give him some food.

Then for the next to days ignore him and just try to get him off the idea that its a every day thing. And that it isn't a good thing to be waking you up.
