Cat sits and stares

My cat is behaving oddly. For the past year she has been going into a daze every now and then by stopping in her tracks, crouching to the floor, staring at it with eyes partially closed.

(either in pain or dizziness)and does this uncontrollably until we snap her out of it. I think it might be due to a hidden problem.

Anyone?
