Cat needs to be pet

My cat needs to be pet in order to eat food. Sometime in the last 2 months, my boyfriend Dan began to pet our cat Memphis when he was eating. Now the cat ( Memphis ) wakes us up in the middle of the night, and meows demanding when we come home, just to be pet while he eats.

His meowing is kind of relentless and interrupts our sleep. We would love for this pattern to stop. What should we do? Any experience with this cat problem?

Cats have strange habits. My cat makes these little noises then gets very noisy. the only thing that helps her is Feliway Defuser which is pheromones which cats produce, it calms them and stops them behaving noisy. I have had to start using it again as she has started these noises again. Hope this helps you. Just google it, Im sure you will be able to buy it in your area. Good luck.Roz
