Cat likes bath mat

Cat likes bath mat. My cat Aphra has taken a disturbing liking to small floor mats! This started in my last property where she would run up to the bath mat and start caressing it and holding it between her paws and licking it like mad. clawing at it and rolling around for ages.

After she is done she has licked it so much that sections of it are soggy! If you try to take the mat off her while she is doing this she licks it even more rapidly and holds onto it with her claws, not letting go.

This seems to happen more when she is excited & playful. When i moved into my new home she took a liking to a tiny mat in the loungeroom.

Each time I get home the mat is in a different location in the lounge room! She seems to be licking, sucking and hugging this mat more and more. If she could i am sure she would carry it around the house with her!

She has access to outside during the days so it is not boredom & she gets more excited about the rug when she is playing with me, often leaving me to spend time with her rug.
