Cat eats Yarn

If my one-year old cat manages to get a piece of yarn while I'm knitting, he runs off with it and before I can catch it, starts swallowing it one inch at a time. Before I get to him to pull it out, he has swallowed the whole long string! He doesn't play with it or anything - just eats it!

I added a picture of our cat Thomas. Our cat eats yarn also.
