About Cats
The thing about cats is they make rewarding and loving pets. Yet in many ways they are solitary creatures that often seem to prefer their own company.
What is certain is that cats need and value companionship. In there early months as kittens they will experience many bonding moments with their mother and siblings.
This need for continued bonding persists in the domestic cats adult life. If you doubt this cat fact try ignoring your cat for a while and see if he or she does not seek you out to find out why you are not paying attention to them.
About cat training
Cats always maintain their own sense of dignity and reserve, and unlike dogs are not particularly eager to please their owners.
It is much more difficult to teach a cat a trick then a dog. This fact about cats is not because they are less intelligent than dogs, but because they simply do not see the advantages to their personal gain.
If they want to master a particular skill such as figuring out how to operate a door latch to let them in or out of the cold, they will do so because the rewards are of a personal nature.
Whether their owner thinks it is cute or clever does not mater to the cat in any way, shape or form.
Cat facts about playing
Playing is of course a different matter, and even quite elderly cats will enjoy a hunting game with a catnip mouse or similar toy. Cats generally use playtime to practice their hunting skills that they were taught as kittens.
This is evident by the way the cat toy is stalked, the quick shake of the prey (or toy) that would brake the neck of a small rodent and then the way toy is pinned down for investigation.
Cat facts
Another amazing trait that cats display is how they have adapted to the human factor in their environment. A lost dog will tend to Rome until it drops of exhaustion, whereas long before exhaustion sets in, a lost cat will seek the source of warmth and food it has learned is available from the human. this fact about the cats nature not only shows intelligence but also wisdom. This is very advanced state of reasoning for any creature on this earth.
Many stray or lost cats have found a new home, simply by persistence and appealing to the good nature of an available household. This sense of confidence in finding human caregivers can give a cat a very independent feeling that may be taken to the extreme.
If this cat becomes upset with its current environment, it remembers that all he has to do is move on to the next household and work his way into the family. It would seem that cats easily view the world, as the grass is greener on the other side.
